Different players supports different playlist formats. Here's a list of which players (Disclaimer: this is in no way a complete list) that supports what format:
| Format | Supported players |
|---|---|
| .m3u | Windows Media Player, WinAmp, iTunes. |
| .pls | Real Player, WinAmp, iTunes. |
| .asx | Windows Media Player, WinAmp, Real Player. |
| .ram | Real Player. |
| .qtl | QuickTime, iTunes. |
We have a mix of MP3 and AAC+ streams available. AAC+ should sound better and use less bandwidth, but if your player doesn't like AAC streams, it won't do you any good. Default are the port 8000 streams on the following URLs:
| .m3u | .pls | .asx | .ram | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 320kbps MP3 | Max quality | Max quality | Max quality | Max quality |
| 128kbps AAC+ | High quality | High quality | High quality | High quality |
| 128kbps MP3 | Medium quality | Medium quality | Medium quality | Medium quality |
| 48kbps AAC+ | Low bandwidth | Low bandwidth | Low bandwidth | Low bandwidth |
We also support Shoutcast relays - which should show up in the iTtunes radio list, and some other places. Some players may prefer Shoutcast over Icecast - so you may try this with your player as well:
| .m3u | .pls | .asx | .ram | .qtl | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 128kbps MP3 | Medium quality | Medium quality | Medium quality | Medium quality | Medium quality |
If you are behind a firewall that blocks, you may wish to use our port 80 URL's - though be careful if you're trying to listen at work (check with your admin before you get someone pissed off. Some of us are admins. So we get why.)
| .m3u | .pls | .asx | .ram | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 320kbps MP3 | Max quality | Max quality | Max quality | Max quality |
| 128kbps AAC+ | High quality | High quality | High quality | High quality |
| 128kbps MP3 | Medium quality | Medium quality | Medium quality | Medium quality |
| 48kbps AAC+ | Low bandwidth | Low bandwidth | Low bandwidth | Low bandwidth |
Enjoy!
